bet365 workforce hits 10,000 as revenues soar on back of Euro 2024

bet365 has released its 2024/25 accounts

The number of staff employed by gambling giant bet365 has topped 10,000. Latest figures show Etruria-based bet365 had a global workfroce of 10,056 staff at the end of March - up from 9,145 in 2024.

It comes as revenue soared by nine per cent in 2024/25 - rising to £4 million. Turnover of £4 billion was up from £3.7 billion in the previous year.

Pre-tax profits fell to £349 million - from £627 million the previous year.

The increased revenue was helped by a buoyant Euro 2024 football tournament.

The 2024/25 accounts state: "Revenue increased by nine per cent driven by growth in sports and gaming revenues. This growth was supported by a successful UEFA Euro 2024 tournament and expansion into new locally regulated markets. Employee staff costs increased, commensurate with headcount growth. The changing worldwide gambling and leisure industries are likely to present opportunities for enhancing the Group's presence worldwide. The Group will continue to invest in IT infrastructure and technology around the world to ensure it has both the flexibility and scalability to evolve with internal and external developments."

It is being reported that bet365 boss Denise Coates - widely described as Britain's highest-paid woman - took home at least £280 million in pay and dividends in 2025. Her charity - the Denise Coates Foundation - received £130 million in 2024/25 - up from £120 million in the previous 12 months.

Ms Coates - the UK's youngest female billionaire - made her fortune as a pioneer of online gambling in the early 2000s, building her father Peter Coates' business empire. She paid just £2,000 for her company's domain name, and now owns around half of her family's company.
